Polymorph provide IT support for AkzoNobel in the North West

Challenge

Globally AkzoNobel have outsourced their IT support to Hewlett Packard under an agreement known as Unity. The Unity contract covers desktop support for end-users along with provision of suitable File & Print servers.

Akzonobel retain a small core number of staff who are located at Runcorn, Cheshire. These core staff encompass a wide variety of disciplines including Finance, Global Environmental, Group Communications and Legal functions. Additional to the support provided under the Unity contract AkzoNobel at Runcorn operate some local Line of Business (LoB) systems and, due to their relatively low number of staff, do not have a local IT manager. Management of the Runcorn IT systems falls under the remit of a remote (London-based) IT Operations Manager.

Solution

Polymorph staff have supported the IT requirements of ICI, and now AkzoNobel, in the North West for over 13 years. We therefore have an excellent working knowledge of all the IT systems in use by the customer. Polymorph are responsible for supporting all Line of Business (LoB) servers and software. Alongside this Polymorph also support the networking infrastructure, multifunctional (MFD) devices and assist with larger IT issues which are done on a project basis. Polymorph also provide additional local resource alongside AkzoNobel’s remote IT Operations Manager.

Result

Local timely support to enable the effective continuous running of their business.
